Destin Factory Scheduled Maintenance

Why is it important?
Your vehicle is probably your largest investment aside from your home. At DMC we want to help you protect it. Following your vehicle manufacturer recommended maintenance schedule will help extend the life of your vehicle and prevent costly repairs.

What we can do:
You do not have to deal with the dealership. Our technicians are authorized to perform all manufacturers scheduled maintenance. They have access to the manufacturer's recommended schedules for all makes and models. Our trained service managers can print out the recommended schedule and prioritize a schedule to keep your vehicle performing economically and safely for you.

About Factory Maintenance Schedules:
To rely on your vehicle for continued reliability and safety for the long term, a regular maintenance program must be followed. By adhering to a maintenance schedule it not only ensures reliability, it will also provide a higher resale value. Studies show that a well-maintained vehicle cost less per mile to operate.

Vehicles today are made better. They are safer, handle better, and stop quicker. They get better gas mileage and pollute less. They are more comfortable and are more reliable. Much of this is due to improvements in the materials from which they are made. The fluids that are used to lubricate them have greatly improved. Motor oils, transmissions fluids, anti-freeze and gear lubes have changed significantly, not to mention the changes in gasoline quality.

All of these changes have altered our expectancy of a vehicle's useful life. In the past, we viewed a vehicle with 80,000 miles to be tired and ready for scrap at 100,000 miles, Today with proper maintenance schedules being followed we are seeing vehicles exceeding 200,000 miles and still running will and providing good reliable service.

Nothing lasts forever. Your vehicle's oils are fluids do break down and require replacement in order to properly lubricate. These fluids not only provide lubrication, they need to conduct heat; they need to protect from rust and corrosion; they perform hydraulic functions. The detergents and anti-foaming agents need to be maintained. Waiting for the engine to make noise or to burn oil or for the transmission to start slipping is too late. Waiting for the anti-freeze to turn brown and become contaminated would also be too late. The protective properties of these fluids change over time and their effectiveness diminishes.

When to Service:
The manufacturer cannot predict how the car will be driven. The factory maintenance schedules are based on ideal driving conditions. Severe driving conditions can shorten the time between those schedules. Will the vehicle be operated in the cold of Maine or in the hot humid climate of Florida or perhaps in the deserts of Arizona? Will it make long runs on the interstate highways or short trips around town? At DMC our service managers and technicians check the factory recommendations and tailor them to meet your driving habits and conditions.

We also perform our famous 27 Point Inspection every time your vehicle is in for any service or repair to keep you informed of any present concerns or any component that could be a concern in the future.

Will your Service validate my warranty?
Scheduled maintenance service must be completed in order to keep your warranty valid, and DMC is authorized to perform most of the service recommended by each manufacturer.

As with all services you receive at DMC, the parts will meet or exceed the manufactures standards, and all used parts are returned to you upon request.

DMC strongly advises that you have maintenance services performed based on the manufacturer recommended schedule. Additional services may also be recommended based on your 27 Point Inspections and industry standards.
